Set up TaxJar

Overview

TaxJar calculates automatic rates and can record transactions for filing. Review Third-party tax services overview first. Foxy does not support address validation through TaxJar.

Steps

   Go to the Foxy admin.

   Go to Settings > Integrations and add a new integration.

   Set Provider to TaxJar. The provider cannot be changed after the integration is created.

   Enter your API token.

   To record completed calculations in TaxJar, turn on Enable Committed Sales Invoice.

   Optionally add Category to tax code mappings (see Notes), then click Create.

   Create or edit a tax, turn on Calculate tax automatically, and set Service provider to TaxJar.

Notes

• Tax codes. Add a Category to tax code mapping to send a TaxJar tax code for a category. Unlike Avalara, Foxy does not send a tax code for categories that are not in the mapping list.
