Customize template language strings

How to change the text strings shown on the cart, checkout, and receipt.

Change the wording of text strings shown on the cart, checkout, and receipt. Strings belong to the template set the cart session is using, so you edit them one template set at a time.

Steps

    Go to the Foxy admin.

    Go to Settings > Templates.

  3. 3

    Under Template sets, click the template set you want to edit. If your store only uses one, that is Default Template Set.

    Scroll past Payment method set to the string editor, then pick the tab for the area you want to change — cart, checkout, receipt, email, gift, downloadables, validation, messaging, minfraud, or one of the gateway-specific tabs.

    Edit the strings you want to change. Each one shows its identifier (such as cart_add_coupon) above the editable wording.

    Click Save changes, which appears once you have edited something.

Notes

  • To put a single string back to its stock translation, use the Restore default value icon beside it rather than retyping the original text.

  • Strings are stored per template set. Editing them in one template set has no effect on any other.
