Apply a Tax to a Category

Overview

A tax does not apply to anything until it is attached to a category. This is the second half of the tax model: create the tax once, then associate it with the categories whose products should be taxed. You can do this from either side, and changes are saved immediately (there is no separate save step).

Apply from the category

   Go to the Foxy admin.

   Go to Categories and click the category you want to tax.

   In the Taxes section, check each tax that should apply to products in that category.

Each tax is saved as soon as you check it. The list shows each tax's type and rate (for example, "Global tax • 8%") and how many categories it is already applied to.

Apply from the Tax

   Go to the Foxy admin.

   Go to Settings -> Taxes and open the tax.

   In the Item categories section, check each category the tax should apply to.

Each category is saved as soon as you check it. The list is paginated and shows each category's name and code.

Notes

• You can attach more than one tax to a category, and the same tax to more than one category.

• Each tax still applies according to its own type and location rules once attached.
