Place an order for a new customer

How to complete a checkout on behalf of a new customer using Unified Order Entry, including how to let them set their own password afterward.

Unified Order Entry can also be used to complete an order for a customer who doesn’t have an account yet.

Steps

Add the desired product(s) to the cart.

Go to checkout and enter the new customer’s email address.

Enter the customer’s information.

At the bottom of the checkout, check Save my address & payment info for next time and create a password for the customer.

Submit the order.

The password you set at checkout is a temporary one. For security, let the customer know they should reset it themselves: send them to https://your-store.foxycart.com/cart?cart=updateinfo, have them enter the temporary password, then click Forgot password? to reset it. The Forgot password? link only appears after they’ve entered their email address.
If you don’t want to save the customer’s details or create an account for them, leave Save my address & payment info for next time unchecked and don’t set a password.
