Create a Buy One, Get One Coupon

This article includes general advice on creating coupons and specific information about creating a Buy One, Get One.

   Go to your coupons set up in your Foxy admin (https://admin.foxycart.com/admin.php?ThisAction=ManageCoupons).

   Select Add a New Coupon from the select a coupon dropdown to create a new coupon.

   Generally, you'll want to select Generate Coupon Codes. This will present you with a box where you can enter your desired coupon code.To create a coupon that only applies to specific individual products, you'd create a coupon code with restrict usage by product code designated. Note that you can also restrict usage by category.

   To set a discount for buy one, get one half off, you'll use the following settings:
   
   discount method: Discount by a percentage based on the quantity
   
   discount type: Repeat
   
   tiers: from 2 decrease by 50% (change this to the desired percent off the 2nd item. You can also change the 2 to match the number of items required for discount.)

Note that coupons average the discount based upon all the products in the cart.

Once you've saved the coupon, an option will appear in the cart to add the coupon. We recommend that you test the coupon once you've set it up to ensure that it behaves as expected.
