From Zero to Ecommerce in 5 Minutes (Seriously)
One of my favorite things to do when showing off FoxyCart to new people is to take their existing site and throw it into FoxyCart real quick. Now, I’m clearly not the average FoxyCart user, but I can generally create a new store, set it up, and get the FoxyCart checkout (usually with the “text” theme) into their site in about 5 minutes.
When I show the person the link (direct to checkout, usually) and let them know it only took about 5 minutes to make that happen, they generally respond with stunned skepticism.
Now, we finally have proof! Our first screencast goes through the process in about 5 minutes, and while a few steps are skipped, it’s still really, really fast.
Some Notes
We’ll be adding a non-Quicktime format very shortly.
The tutorial uses Dreamweaver, as we’ve had a few Dreamweaver users ask us lately if FoxyCart worked with Dreamweaver. Of course, it does. If you use Dreamweaver, more power to you. If you think Dreamweaver is for n00bs, rest assured it’s just for illustrative purposes.
More screencasts will follow this one. If you have an idea for one you’d like to see, let us know using the contact form on this page.
Special Thanks
A very special thanks to SmashStack for putting this screencast together.
